Obituary of Michele Gamatko
Michele J. Sahli-Gamatko, 48, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ.
She spent her early childhood in Roselle, NJ and moved to Branchburg, NJ as a teenager and graduated from Somerville High School. She worked in banks, title agencies, and jewelry and retail stores providing kind customer service and product expertise to customers. She also enjoyed spending many summers at the Jersey Shore in Lavallette and Lake Como with her friends and family.
Michele and her husband Matt were married in 2003 and made their home together in Middlesex, NJ for over 20 years. She was a fun-loving and dedicated mother who cherished raising her two children and being an aunt to her sister’s children. Michele also enjoyed serving as a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter’s troop, creating cherished memories and helping the girls find ways to make the world a better place. Additionally, she served as a CCD teacher and assisted children with varied needs in support of their religious education programs.
She enjoyed beach vacations, amusement parks, crafting, baking, attending fairs and shows, and shopping for unique gifts. Michele’s kind and generous heart brought a lot of joy to others in everyday life, and she leaves an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Michele was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Felicia Sahli. She is survived by her loving husband Matt; her beloved children Samantha and Richard; her sister Cynthia and her husband Matt; and her niece Kayla and nephew Ian.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 4-7pm at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846.
The funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ 08846.
Immediately following the funeral mass, Michele will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, 899 East Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway, NJ 08854.
Michele’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
