Obituary of Marie Dolinski
South Plainfield, NJ –Marie Dolinski, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at CareOne at the Highlands in Edison. Born at home in Glen Lyon, PA to the late Joseph and Ceil (Stashak) Harkal, Marie resided in South Plainfield for the last seventy years.
In Marie’s younger years, while living in Pennsylvania, she worked as a secretary in a mental institution. Once her children were born, Marie took great pride in raising them as a homemaker. She was a devout catholic and was a faithful communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield. She was a dedicated Sacristan for over twenty-five years, worked the monthly fish dinners and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. For fifteen years, Marie enjoyed her time helping at the bingo and was a hospitality hostess.
She had a love for reading, crocheting and puzzles and even at 95, her memory was as sharp as a tack. She was the best cook on the planet and her cheesecake was to die for!
Predeceased by her husband and WWII Veteran, Joseph and her sister Geraldine Tarr, Marie is survived by her two children, Jean Marie Wyle of PA and Joseph J. Dolinski of Piscataway; as well as her six grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, James and Matthew Dolinski and Russel and Erin Wyle. She will also be deeply missed by her ten great grandchildren, Elouise, Henry, George, Joseph, Keelan, Carrick, Liam, Lucy, Landon and Declan.
Visitation will be held at South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and on Saturday, June 22, 2024 beginning 9:00am.
Funeral services will begin 9:30am in the funeral home on Saturday, June 22, 2024 followed by a 10:00am Funeral Mass at the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield. Marie will be laid to rest besides her husband at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, also in South Plainfield.
