Recently, I have been thinking of getting 楊慧君 to come along to our up-coming celebration for 55-year graduation from high school. News of her passing came unexpectedly, and I feel very sad.
Joan impressed me in many ways. She has a keen taste of art and fashion, and is always able to select the best jewelry out of hundreds of displays. She showed her strong side when taking care of her ill husband back then. She is a great gardener and cook. She always maintains her posture no matter what happens.
The good memory with fun and laugh will be long lasting.
May God bring peace and comfort to the family.

It is with a heavy and sad heart to send a message to our beloved friend Joan. I got to know you at the second year of our junior high school. You had very high scholastic grades and got to sit in the front row seat. You had a wonderful personality and knew a lot of things. I felt very at ease with you around. I enjoyed listening to your talks. The story you told me not long ago about getting disciplined for playing bridge during recess at high school impressed me. You were smart and courageous. We were very lucky to form a three person LINE group with your body Shun-Fen and me as your admirer. You two took the first and second place after you transferred to our Junior high school. You two were the favorites of our teacher Ms. Lowe. You two wrote the best Chinese articles in the class. While it was a challenge for me to come up with a mere mediocre one. With the LINE chats, I learned about your optimism, great sense of humor, your courage and your love for your kids, cooking, cleaning and gardening. Your garden is like a royal garden with numerous colorful flowers. You would work hours in your yards. I am sure you are busy cultivating a beautiful garden up there so we can meet up with you and continue our lovely chats. We miss you so much!

I still remember how surprised I was to see you at our high school reunion. Although your somewhat loud voice was the same, you looked so different and fashionable with short hair and dangling hoop earrings. We had a good time catching up with each other at the reunion.
