Obituary of Arthur De Blasio
Piscataway – Arthur De Blasio, 88, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born and raised in Springfield, NJ, Art settled to Piscataway Township in the early 1970s where he raised his children. He took the passion he had for golf and turned it into a career and happily worked as Head Golf Professional at Rutgers Golf Course for 35 years.
An honorable discharged veteran of the United States Army, Art was stationed in Okinowa where he won the 1960 all Army Golf Championship. He was a communicant of St. Frances Cabrini in Piscataway and enjoyed dancing as well as watching football.
Art is predeceased by thirteen siblings. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Lenore (Papendick) DeBlasio and four children, Carrie De Blasio and husband Gareth Maher, Lenore De Blasio, Anne Marie De Blasio – Leva and husband Paul Leva, and Michael De Blasio. He will also be missed by his cherished grandchildren, Lucy and Frankie, Anthony, Lorenzo and Evalina, and Lukas, and Amelia.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 4 – 7PM in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway NJ 08854.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church of Piscataway on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 am, family and friends may gather in the funeral home prior to beginning at 8:45AM.
Burial will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
