Obituary of Grace Anne MacDonald
Grace Anne MacDonald, 89, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 30, 2024, at her home in Middlesex.
Born and raised in Plainfield, NJ, to the late Antonio and Lucia Izzo, Grace remained in Plainfield where she started her family alongside her late husband Chester MacDonald. In the summer of 1969, the family settled in Middlesex, NJ, where Grace has been a longtime resident since.
Professionally, Grace worked as a Secretary at Hartford Insurance. In 1990, she retired at the age of 55.
Grace had a creative spirit. She enjoyed partaking in various different crafts, including ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed baking and cake decorating, and creating floral arrangements.
Predeceased by her husband, Chester MacDonald, and brother Gaetano Izzo, Grace is survived by her children, Bruce MacDonald and his wife Shirley, Debra Bellina and her husband Pete, and Anne Decker and her husband Raymond She will also be missed by her six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Funeral services will take place in the funeral home beginning at 12 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the MacDonald family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society Grace’s name.
