Obituary of Lorraine Ostroski
Formerly of Middlesex, NJ – Lorraine (Gruska) Ostroski, 99, passed away peacefully at Brandywine Assisted Living in Bridgewater on Monday, October 7, 2024. Born in Avoca, PA to the late Joseph and Marianna (Rzeszut) Gruska, Lorraine has been a resident of Middlesex since 1952.
She worked as a clerk for Mack Motors and in sales at the former Grants located in the Middlesex Shopping Center. She thoroughly enjoyed being home with her family and loved to play bingo, sew, cook and bake, especially her well-known Lemon Meringue Pies. Lorraine was active with the Altar Rosary Society of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church and was a charter member of the Lady Elks with Middlesex Elks.
Predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1987, and her eight siblings, Lorraine leaves behind her sons; James and his wife Denise of Branchburg and John and his wife Karen of Middlesex. She will be missed by five grandchildren; Adam, David, Jake and Elizabeth “Bee” Ostroski and Cassandra “Cassie” Janson as well as eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 6pm until 8pm and on Friday, October 11, 2024 beginning 10:00am. Funeral services will begin 10:30am in the funeral home on Friday followed by burial at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
