Obituary of Stanley E. Woods

Stanley E. Woods, 68, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Born and raised in Middlesex, Stanley and his beloved wife of 40 years, Jill (nee Sullivan) settled in Califon thirty five years go. An accomplished IT specialist for Verizon, he eagerly anticipated his retirement, which he celebrated in 2024.

Stanley was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and capturing photographs of the diverse wildlife that frequented his property. His passions extended beyond nature; he was also a member of the Middlesex Elks and the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club, where he built lasting friendships.  He also will be remembered as an excellent cook who spent a lot of time in the kitchen.

Stanley’s warm spirit, infectious laugh, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Marie Woods; surviving are his wife, Jill A. Woods and their beloved cockatoos, Kelly and Tommy.

He will also be missed by his sister in law, Janet Sullivan and brother in law, John Sullivan, his wife Joanne and their children Maria and Nina.

Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex NJ on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 4PM – 8PM.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in Our Lady of Mount Virgin, Middlesex at 9:30AM, family and friends may gather in the funeral home beginning at 8:30AM.
