Please share a memory of Anthony to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anthony Bratton, 64, passed away unexpected on Monday, December 16, 2024, at his home in Piscataway, NJ.

Born and raised in Far Rockaway, NY, Anthony attended Beach Channel High School then later furthered his studies at New York City Community College, where he attained an Associates of Arts for his studies in Marketing and Music. After meeting his future wife, Tammie Franklin, in the late 90’s, he relocated to Edison, NJ in 1999 to be closer to her. The two were married on March 25, 2000, and settled in Piscataway, NJ, where he has been a resident since.

Professionally, Anthony proudly served as a Safety Officer in the New York Police Department for over ten years, earning the rank of Sergeant. After leaving the NYPD, he became a School Security Officer in the Plainfield School District, retiring in 2015. He has also been a longtime Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Arbor Hose Fire Company in Piscataway.

Outside of work, he had many passions. Baseball was his life, and he was a lifelong Mets fan. He also enjoyed watching football, rooting for the Jets, fishing for trout, making the trip to East Stroudsburg, PA many times to fish, and spending time in the vegetable garden. Anthony also had a deep passion for music, studying it in college, he could play the trumpet and both the keyboard and piano. He was also known to write music as well. In his younger years, he had a small music group, TNT Muzik, with his best friend Tom. His cooking will also be missed, an excellent cook, he often got competitive with his wife to see whose meal was better.

Anthony fully embraced fatherhood, supporting his children in all that they did, even when it meant becoming a Dance Dad and Pageant Dad, which he did proudly. With a laugh you could not mistake, and you could hear across the room, Anthony loved a good joke, and had many good stories to tell. Above all else, he will be remembered for being a compassionate, loving, father, husband, grandfather, and friend.

Predeceased by his loving parents, Joseph and Mary Elizabeth, his siblings, Ronald, Elizabeth (Ann), Patricia, Michael, and Russell. Anthony will be deeply missed by his wife, Tammie (nee Franklin) Bratton; children, Anthony G.J. Bratton, Kia Alyese Bratton, and Destiny (Donnette Johnson-Simons) Simons; and granddaughter, Naira Bratton. He will also be missed by his brother, Joseph, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
