Obituary of Jimmie Alexander

Piscataway – Jimmie W. Alexander, 93, passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2025.

 

Born and raised on his family farm in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Jimmie is predeceased by his parents, Milton and Elizabeth as well as his four siblings.  He enlisted with the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955 then served with the reserves and was honorably discharged in 1961.  While stationed at Camp Kilmer, he met his late wife, Barbara Ann Kretch at a dance on base; they would eventually marry and settle to Piscataway Township.

 

An OSU Cowboy, Jimmie also attended Seaton Hall University where he received a Master’s Degree in Education, for a brief time, Jimmie taught science at Jamesburg High School.  He retired from the State of New Jersey where he worked in the New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services.

 

Jimmie enjoyed golfing, bowling in his younger years as well as collecting and fixing clocks as well as gardening.

 

Predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann Alexander and daughter, Susan Alexander; surviving are his daughter, Diane Kelliher and three grandsons, John, Chris and Jeffery as well as his great grandson, Nolan.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10:45AM in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway NJ 08854, family and friends may arrive at 10AM.

 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2-4PM in the funeral home.
