Obituary of Emily Lewandowski

Emily Lewandowski South Plainfield, NJ - Emily (nee Lewandowski) Lewandowski, 88, died on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Poland, Emily moved to the United States June 29, 1949 residing in Brooklyn and has been a Plainfield and South Plainfield resident most of her life. Emily retired from Burroughs Electronics located in Warren where she was employed as a factory worker. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church in South Plainfield, a member of the South Plainfield Chapter of AARP and a former member of the Ricochet Health and Racquet Club. She belonged to the community pool and enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and crocheting and most of all, she enjoyed listening to her musicals. She is predeceased by her husband Kazimirez Lewandowski and by her sister Mary Bieciuk. Emily leaves behind her loving son Andrew and his Wife Mary of South Plainfield, her only grandson Adam and by her brother Edward Lewandowski of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 beginning 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church in South Plainfield. Cremation services will be held privately. Relatives and friends may attend the visitation in the funeral home on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 7-9 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until the service time. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be sent to Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, 809 Hamilton Blvd., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 or to Haven Hospice, C/O JFK Medical Center, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08820.
