Mildred Hartman South Plainfield - Mildred " Mickey" Hartman 83, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2010 at Brighton Gardens in Edison. She born was in New York City and moved to South Plainfield with her husband John in 1951 where she resided for 50 years. Mrs. Hartman was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield as well as St. Helena's RC Church in Edison. She is pre-deceased by her husband John M. Hartman, her parents Jon and Eva Derech, her sister Catherine and her brothers Henry, Paul, and Mike. She is survived by her daughters Amelia, Karen and her husband Ed, her son John and her honorary daughter Mickie. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Eric, Matthew, April, Aliya and Vanessa Mildred spent part of her life as a toy maker for Mattel Toys in South Plainfield. Mrs. Hartman was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was of Ukranian decent and shared that culture with her family and friends. Her greatest love was her grandchildren. She will be remembered by all for her kindness, strength and sense of humor. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 4-8 PM in the funeral home.
