Obituary of Antonio B. Goncalves

Antonio Goncalves South Plainfield - Antonio Goncalves, 77, died on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at his home. Born in Minho, Portugal, he came to the United States in 1960. He resided in Newark for a few years before settling to South Plainfield in 1965. Working in construction for many years, Antonio had worked for various local construction companies. He later began working in the housekeeping department of JFK medical Center in Edison for 10 years before retiring in 1995. Antonio loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed growing his own grape vines and gardening. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Maria, his twin sons, Antonio and Carlos. His two sisters, Rosa & Adelaide and his three grandchildren, Nicholas, David and Jessie. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 7:00 PM in the McCriskin Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield preceded by visitation from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the South Plainfield Rescue Squad, 2520 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 or the South Plainfield Police Department, PBA Local #100, 2480 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
