Joseph Bottone South Plainfield - Joseph Bottone, 81, died on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at home. Born and raised in Maddaloni, Italy, Joe came to the United States in 1953. From 1953 until 1973, Mr. Bottone traveled back and forth from Italy and the United States on regular basis. For the next 6 years, Joe and his family lived in Plainfield before finally settling in South Plainfield in 1979. When Mr. Bottone first arrived to the United States he worked for the City of Plainfield in the Public Works Department. After, he was employed by the former Norwalk Vault Company in Watchung for a few years before landing a job for Roma Foods in Piscataway. While employed by Roma, Joe worked as the company grounds keeper until his retirement a few years ago. An avid gardener and wine maker, his first love was for his family. He is pre-deceased by 2 sisters; Giulia and Pasquarella, and by 2 brothers; Tony and Luigi. Surviving are his wife Rosa, 3 children; Francesca D'Antuono and her husband Aniello of Somerset, Clemente Bottone and his wife Maria of South Plainfield, and Louie Bottone Jr. and his wife Julia of Hillsborough, his sister Lucia Natale of California and by 6 grandchildren; Frank D'Antuono, Attionette Estadt, and Joseph, Roseanna, Louie Jr., and Kristina Bottone. Also surviving are his 5 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 7:15 AM in the McCriskin -Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by an 8:00 AM funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
