Piscataway - Joanne D. (Cantamessa) Eroglu, 56, died on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at her home.
Born in Plainfield, Joanne grew up in South Plainfield, was a 1969 graduate of South Plainfield High School and later graduated from Middlesex County College. Before settling to Piscataway in 1993, Joanne lived in Germany, Arizona and Basking Ridge.
Upon graduating from High School, Joanne was recruited to work for the IRS. She was working as a Corporate Auditor before retiring, this past May.
She is a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the South Plainfield Rescue Squad. Being very active for a number of years, she had held a position at every office. Joanne also enjoyed traveling and bowling. She bowled in several leagues, most recently at Stelton Lanes.
Her father, Louis, died in 1994. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica, her mother, Joan (Ditzel) Cantamessa, her three sisters and their husbands, Dianne L. & Robert Mills, Nancy M. & Roger Colvard & Patricia L. & John Fizur, her brother & his wife, Jeff & Barbara Cantamessa, her former husband, Dogan Eroglu and her nieces and nephews; Tracy, Michele, Kristie, Robbie, Laura, Melissa, Eric, Matthew & Faith. Also surviving are 8 great nieces and nephews, her dog, Brandy and numerous extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 10:45 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 11:30 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ.
Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
