Doris Longinotti
Doris Longinotti (née Weber) died on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Syracuse, New York, she was a graduate of Summit High School and a resident of South Plainfield since 1957.
Beloved by relatives, friends and children for her caring nature, generosity of spirit and openness, she will be greatly missed. Her callings from an early age were motherhood, home and family. She was an accomplished refinisher of antique and collectible furniture, excelled at needlepoint and cross stitch and baked the best Christmas cookies this side of Heaven. But nothing delighted her more than babies and children.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty-two years, Louis D. Longinotti.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Nargi of Green Brook and her partner Harry H. Wade, her son David of Columbia, MD and his wife Yao Tang, and her daughter Cathy of Short Hills.
Also surviving are her sister Ansin Stepp of Bound Brook, four grandchildren, John Nargi and his wife Suzanne, Sharon Merola and her husband Chris, Julia and Carlo Longinotti, a step granddaughter, Xiaojing Fan, and three great grandchildren, Thomas and Rachel Nargi and Zoë Merola.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, March 23, and at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 24 for a funeral service.
Interment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
