Obituary of Victor G. Contey

Victor G. Contey Loving Father and Grandfather Whiting - Victor G. Contey, 76, died suddenly on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at home. Born and raised in Jersey City, Mr. Contey lived in Piscataway before settling in Whiting 11 years ago. A member of the Teamsters Local# 641in Union, Victor worked as a truck driver for 34 years for Sears & Roebucks in Elizabeth. Victor was an avid Frank Sinatra fan who had a love for music. In addition, he was also very creative with his hands. A very proud father of his children, Vic was especially proud of his grandchildren. He loved them all deeply and will greatly missed. He is pre-deceased by 5 sisters and 6 brothers. Surviving are his 4 children; Vicki Spisso and her husband Brian of South Plainfield, Michelle Contey - Faso and her husband Matt of Stow, Massachusetts, Patti Ann Contey of Piscataway, and Nicholas Contey and his wife Kim of Raritan, his former wife Rose Contey of South Plainfield, his sister Cecilia Contey and his brother Anthony Contey both of Jersey City. Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren; Anthony & Phillip Malloy, Dina Spisso, PFC Brian Spisso Jr. who, on Monday, September 24, 2007 was just deployed to Iraq in honor to defend our country in Operation Iragi Freedom, Matteo and Marco Contey - Faso, and Joseph and Nicholas Contey. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 6-9 PM in the funeral home.
