Obituary of Dominic R. DiNardo

Dominic R. DiNardo South Plainfield - Dominic R. DiNardo, 83, died early Tuesday morning, May 5, 2009 at Overlook Hospital in Summit Born in South Plainfield, Mr. DiNardo has been a life long resident of the borough. He was the Owner and President of the former Holly Park Video of South Plainfield and served with the Navy during WW II as an Electrician's mate 2nd class. A member of the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department for 36 years Dom held the positions of Captain, Lieutenant and Treasure. He is a member of the South Plainfield Volunter Fire Dept. Exempt Association were he served as a past President and is also a life member of the New Jersey State Firemans Exempt Association as well as a life member of the New Jersey State Firemans Relief Association. Mr. DiNardo was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield and also attended mass at St. James the Apostle Church in Springfield. He was predeceased by his wife Jean DiNardo who died in 1981, his parents Rocco and Dominica DiNardo, 2 sisters; Anna Ingenito and Lucy Ciccanti, 3 brothers; Frank, John and James and by a grandson Mateo Chaves. Surviving are 2 daughters: Karen N. Pack of Scottsdale, AZ and Susan E. DiNardo of Hollywood, Fl., 2 sisters: Kay Gaub and Gigi Linden both of Dundinen, Fla., and his brother Ernest "Pete" Dinardo also of Dundinen, Fla. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his lifetime partner Joan Kukan. Relatives and friends will be gathering on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 8:45 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the South Plainfield Vol. Fire Dept. or the South Plainfield Rescue Squad.
