Obituary of Mary A. Pizza

South Plainfield - Mary Pizza, beloved wife and mother died on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born and raised in Plainfield, Mary was one for 13 children born to the late Pasquale and Mary. She had resided in North Plainfield and settled to South Plainfield in 1961. Mary was employed by the former Macy's Department Store in Plainfield prior to her retirement. Being from a large family, she enjoyed time spent them as well as, trips to Atlantic City and could often be seen locally with her husband of 60 years at her side. Mary is predeceased by her siblings; Violet Pizza, Elinor Poklitar, Carmella Merrill, Evelyn Santy, Anthony Riccardi, Foo Riccardi and Michael Riccardi. She is survived by her loving husband, Albert J, devoted son, Albert A., a sister, Madeline Brueno, brothers, Irving and Frank Riccardi along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10 AM. Cremation and interment of her cremated remains will take place privately. Family and friend are invited to join together for visitation on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 4-7 PM in the funeral home.
