Obituary of Paul Z. Pollara

South Plainfield - Paul Z. Pollara, 94, died on Tuesday, July, 29, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born and raised in Lyndhurst, Mr. Pollara settled to the borough of South Plainfield in 1953.
During World War II, Paul served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Lieutenant Commander.
Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Pollara entered the workforce working for Thermo Plastics in Stirling serving as their Vice President until his retirement nearly 30 years ago.
A man of several hobbies, Paul took particular interest in collecting stamps and coins and was a regular at the South Plainfield Public Library. In addition, Mr. Pollara was a lifelong NY Yankees fan and attend his last game only two weeks ago along with his son Paul.
He is predeceased by a son Thomas who died in 1996 and by seven siblings.
Surviving are his wife, Leonora; daughter, Lenora Pollara Gerlitz of Gillette; son, Paul and his wife Bretta of Newbury, CA; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:45AM in Hillside Cemetery, 742 Rutherford Ave., Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.
