Obituary of Anthony P. Sincavage

Anthony P. Sincavage South Plainfield, NJ - Anthony P. Sincavage, 76, passed away early Saturday morning, March 31, 2012 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born and raised in Sugar Notch, PA., Anthony was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1959 and settled to South Plainfield in 1960. He graduated from Kings College, attended Rutgers University and achieved a masters degree from Kean College. He began a long and rewarding career as an educator for the South Plainfield Board of Education for 35 years. He retired as a Principal from the John E. Riley Elementary School in 1994 after 25 years of dedication. He had been a member of the NJEA, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators and a member of the South Plainfield Knights of Columbus. Anthony was also one of the founding members of the South Plainfield Community Pool. His lifelong love for basketball led him to become an undefeated coach for the South Plainfield Middle School. Anthony was a man of integrity who was respected by his family, players, fellow educators and community members. He leaves behind his wife; Patricia A. (Brogan) Sincavage of 52 years, their children; Joan Marie Sincavage and her husband, Robert Puccio of Scotia, NY and Patricia Hlavka and her husband, John of South Plainfield, four grandchildren; Peter Hlavka, Brianna Lydon, Haley Hlavka and Emma Lydon and a brother; John Sincavage. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 beginning 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Mausoleum Entombment will follow at Holy Redeemer Mausoleum in South Plainfield. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 4 -8 PM.
