Obituary of Roseanne E. Somlock

Roseanne E. Carlisle Somlock Roseanne E. Carlisle Somlock, 77 of South Plainfield, NJ passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Care One at Wall. Roseanne was born in Newark and resided in Irvington, and then Fanwood before moving to South Plainfield 41 years ago. She was a graduate of the class of 1960 from Newark State College, the predecessor of Kean University. Mrs. Somlock enjoyed a brilliant career as a teacher at Sacred Heart School, South Plainfield. She was the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award for the Diocese of Metuchen in 1990. As a South Plainfield resident Rosanne was very active in her community as a volunteer with the South Plainfield Rescue Squad Auxiliary during the 1970's. She was also a faithful Communicant of Sacred Heart Church, South Plainfield. Roseanne was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Muriel Gray Carlisle. Surviving are her husband Danny Somlock, her son Edward M. Kissling of Spring Lake, her stepson Dan Somlock of Raritan, her niece Suzanne Stebenne of Hartland, VT., her 4 nephews Kenneth Carlisle of Alexandria, VA., Michael Carlisle of Danville, VT., Patrick Carlisle of Sharon, VT., and Peter Carlisle of North Attleboro, MA. and 7 grand nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 7-9 PM followed by a Funeral Service on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Funeral Home, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Cokesbury, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the South Plainfield Rescue Squad, 2520 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
