Arthur E. Katzer Edison, NJ - Arthur E. Katzer, 76, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at his residence. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Philip and Sylvia (Hertzberg) Katzer, he was raised in North Plainfield and had lived in Union, Middlesex, Baltimore and Piscataway before settling to South Plainfield in 1999 and most recently living in Edison since 2004. Arthur attended Marshall University in West Virginia and worked as an Accounting Clerk with the Buffalo Tank Division in Dunellen and retired in 1996 from Research Cottrel in Branchburg . He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and Jets. He is predeceased by his wife Edie who died in 1994. Arthur is survived by his companion Edie Fitzel and by his children; Francine Ciliberto and her husband Peter of Middlesex and Gregg Katzer of Dayton. Arthur also leaves behind his step-children; Randi Gregorio, Shelley Lampf and her husband Mark and Melody Fitzel, his sister Neila Pesca and her husband Joseph, his grandchildren; Matthew, Philip, Michelle, Jessica, Stefanie, Philip, Sean, Carolyn and Scott and his great-grandson Joey. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 beginning at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by burial in The Hertzberg Family Circle of Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until the service time.
