Obituary of John G. Kovalchick

Middlesex, NJ - John G. Kovalchick, 91, passed away peacefully with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at his side on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Scranton, PA, John had lived in Middlesex and Vermont, but most recently at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park. He was an honorably discharged veteran having served his country in the US Merchant Marines during WWII. After thirty years of employment as a Long Shoreman he retired in 1984. He also was employed by Halls Trucking in Secaucus as a truck driver. He enjoyed his trips to Vermont and was formerly a member of a Vermont Moose Lodge. He is predeceased by his parents John and Mary (Stanko) Kovalchick, his wife of sixty years, Helen in 2007 and his siblings; Mary, George and Ann. John leaves behind his children; Catherine Rau and her husband Earl of Edgewater, FL and John Kovalchick and his wife Rose of Vass, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Earl, Jr., Michael and Tracy, five great-grandchildren; Kaitlin, Joseph, Thomas, Autumn and Mark, Jr. and his sister Catherine Belowski of Florida. Visitation will take place in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Burial will be privately held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
