Obituary of Mary E. Dellaperute

South Plainfield - Mary E. Dellaperute, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Plainfield to the late Michael and Sandra Cortese, Mary resided in Plainfield until 1954, and then settled in South Plainfield. For many years, Mary had a daycare center in her home where she lovingly cared for young children. She later worked in the housekeeping department of Raritan Valley Hospital in Middlesex until her retirement. Mary enjoyed knitting, reading and was an avid ballroom dancer. Mary was a communicant of the Church of The Sacred Heart for many years. She will be sadly missed and remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Salvatore James and five siblings, Phyllis DiLello, Susan Restivo, Josephine Del Vecchio, Jenny Santonastaso and Salvatore Cortese, surviving are her three children, Patricia Butrico and husband, William, Michael Dellaperute and wife Janet, Susan Wagner and sister, Minnie Tedesco and three brothers; Joseph, Anthony and Michael Cortese. Funeral services will begin on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in The Church Of The Sacred Heart, South Plainfield. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend visitation on Sunday from 4-8PM in the funeral home.
