Obituary of Adele Holliman

South Plainfield - Adele Holliman (Podstowski), 96, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at AristaCare at Cedar Oaks in South Plainfield. Born in Elizabeth, Adele resided in Garwood before settling in South Plainfield. During WWII, she was employed by Deals making gauges for airplanes then later worked as a crossing guard in South Plainfield, but her main job was at home caring for her family. Adele was a parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and tending to her vegetable garden. She is predeceased by her husband who died in July of 2007; Howard O.. Surviving is her son; Howard L. of South Plainfield. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 9:15AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funeral, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Family and friends may attend visitation on Monday, April 22, 2013 from 7-9PM in the funeral home.
