Born on January 17, 1938 in Somerville to John and Camille Thompson and she grew up in North Plainfield and had resided in South Plainfield for most of her life. Gail devoted herself to her family and friends. Involved in her children's lives as well as her grandchildren, she never missed a sporting event, school function or a simple BBQ, where she could spend time with those she loved. Gail's love of family extended to the many children she had the privilege of caring for. She earned the trust and respect of many families thru the years providing child care in her home. She loved holidays as this was a time that brought everyone together. Gail loved decorating her home into the seasonal celebration, not knowing at the time she was creating lasting memories for her family as well as the children she cared for. From Easter egg hunts to summer carnivals in the backyard, Gail made everything special. Gail also had a great love for animals, and a giving heart for those in need. She was very active in the First Baptist Church in South Plainfield and a member of their Women's Evening Circle where she was able to touch the lives of people in the programs sponsored by the church.
