Obituary of James W. Bohl

James W. Bohl, 67, entered into eternal life on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at home with his family beside him.
Born in Plainfield, Jim was a lifelong resident of South Plainfield.
A Veteran of the U.S. Army, Jim proudly served his country in Vietnam and was a member of the South Plainfield VFW Post 6763. A highlight for him each year was attending the annual Franklin School Veteran's Day program where he was honored by his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in South Plainfield and was well known throughout the church community.
Jim began his career at Statistical Research in Westfield. After graduating from Rutgers University, he went on to work as a computer programmer at Hoffmann-La Roche for 22 years, followed by United Health Care, ETS, and later retiring as a Classifications Officer for the New Jersey State Department of Corrections in Trenton in 2012.
More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family at picnics, the beach and his grand-children's sporting events.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years Linda (Hartpence); his daughter, Kiersten Ravi and her husband Vic of South Plainfield; his son, Andrew and his wife Jessica also of South Plainfield; his sister, Linda DeCoons and her husband John of Belvidere; and his three grandchildren,
Courtney Bohl and Gianna and Hunter Ravi.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-9pm in the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital (501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105) and/or to the Wounded Warrior Project (PO Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66676).
