Obituary of Antoinette "Nettie" DiCanto

Antoinette "Nettie" DiCanto South Plainfield, NJ - Antoinette "Nettie" DiCanto, 83, died on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in South Plainfield, she has been a lifelong resident of the borough. Nettie retired in 2000 from American Solenoid in Somerset where she worked for fourteen years in the assembly line. Prior to, she worked for twenty-eight years for Burroughs Corporation as a Line Supervisor. In her earlier years, Nettie worked as a beautician in South Plainfield. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church in South Plainfield. Predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Mary (Caruso) DiCanto, who also were lifelong residents of the borough, Antoinette leaves behind her sister Dorothy MacNeil of South Plainfield, her nephew Anthony MacNeil of Piscataway and several cousins and god children. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 26, 2012 beginning 9:15am in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church in South Plainfield. Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 9:00am until the service time.
