Obituary of Stephen E. Johnson

Stephen E. Johnson Leadville, CO - Stephen E. Johnson, 48, died in Colorado. Born in Trenton, Steve resided in South Plainfield for most of life prior to settling to Colorado 15 years ago. He is a graduate of the former St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Edison. A true outdoors man, Stephen had a love for nature. He was an avid hiker, loved to fish and ski and took a particular interest in the Rocky Mountains. In addition he was a skilled carpenter and musician. Steve is survived by his parents Robert & Irene Johnson of South Plainfield, his sister Kathleen Ehlers (Darren) of Park City Utah and his nephews; Brenden and Jackson Ehlers. Also surviving are several loving aunts, uncles and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 8:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ followed by a 9:30 AM mass at St. Helena's RC Church in Edison. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
