Obituary of Blanche Kusmick

South Plainfield - Blanche (Porowski) Kusmick, 92, died on Sunday, May 31, 2015 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Dunellen, Blanche was raised in Middlesex and lived in Connecticut and Plainfield before settling to South Plainfield in 1949. Blanche was a member of the South Plainfield Senior Citizens. She enjoyed taking art classes, crocheting and was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. A true homemaker at heart, Blanche loved raising and caring for her family. Upon raising her children, Blanche worked as the secretary for the late Dr. Scalera in South Plainfield for a few years prior to retiring. She is pre-deceased by her husband, John; sister, Elsie Slater and brothers, Edward and Thomas Porowski. Surviving are her 4 sons, Kenneth Kusmick and his wife Arlene of Metuchen, Gary Kusmick and his wife Joanne of Piscataway, Glenn Kusmick and his wife Theresa of Pennsylvania and Jeffrey of Franklin Park. Also surviving her 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:30AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in the funeral home.
