Vincent L. DiDomenico North Plainfield - Vincent L. DiDomenico, 86, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Vincent grew up in Staten Island and later settled to New Jersey, living in Plainfield and North Plainfield for most of his life. He served in the Merchant Marines and was an Army Veteran of World War II. A hairstylist by profession, Vincent was the owner and operator of Desmond's in Millburn, (also know as the Stage Door) for many years before his retirement. He had previously owned and operated Desmond's in NYC and also had worked as a stylist at Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC. Vincent will be remembered for his witty personality, passion for laughter and his exceptional love for his family and friends. He was also an exceptional artist, tennis player and an inspiration to all . . . . Some would refer to Vincent as their hero or mentor. He was a long time member of the SPG Tennis group of Edison and the Cramer Park Group in Scotch Plains. He enjoyed spending time with his family, painting and doing various arts. His parents, Raphael and Antoniette and his siblings, Sue Lamperelli, Tommy and Bart DiDomenico are all predeceased. He is survived by two loving daughters; Lisa DiDomenico and Cara Mitchell and her husband Bruce and two adored grandchildren, Adam and Alison Sue Mitchell all of Maryland. At his request, Vincent had made a noble choice to have his body donated to aid and assist with higher learning. Celebration services will be held privately.
