Obituary of Joan M. Gundersen

Joan M. Gundersen Warren - Joan M. ( Mills ) Gundersen, 78, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in her home. Born in Brooklyn NY, Joan was raised and had resided in South Plainfield. She later resided in Watchung prior to settling to Warren 30 years ago. Working for a short time as a blue print operator for Bell Labs, Joan devoted most of her life to her family as a homemaker. She also had a long time love for her Dachshund breed of dogs. Joan is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Cynthia, and her sibling; Dorothy, William, Kenneth, Donald and Edward. Surviving are her husband of 60 years; Irving, two sons; Glenn and Eric both of Warren, her former daughter in law; Elizabeth Gundersen, brother; Frederick Mills, four grandsons; Robert, Jonathan, Nicolas and Christopher and her dear friend; Gladys McCaughey. Funeral services will begin on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains Family and friends are invited to join together for the visitation hours on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 1- 4 PM in the funeral home.
