South Plainfield - Ruth F. Emrich, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Plainfield.
Born to the late Julius and Louise Staiger in Newark, Ruth was raised in Union before settling to South Plainfield.
A member of New Apostolic Church in Plainfield, Ruth also attended services in Park Community Church in South Plainfield. Ruth was an avid knitter and active with the South Plainfield Senior Citizens.
Predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Robert; son, Bruce and brother, Kurt Staiger; surviving are a daughter, Donna Sopko of Virginia Beach, VA; grandson, Michael Sopko of South Plainfield, many nieces and nephews and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 1-4PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 with a funeral service beginning at 3PM.
Cremation will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department, 123 Maple Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
