Obituary of Grace Brown Campisi

Grace Brown Campisi,94, died on Friday evening, June 21, 2013 in Arista Care at Norwood Terrace in Plainfield. Mrs. Campisi was a well-known lady around the borough of South Plainfield to many residents and local store owners. Born in Brooklyn, NY., she lived in North Plainfield when in 1971, she settled to South Plainfield. Grace had been employed at the former Strand Department Store in Plainfield as a sales clerk. Predeceased by her first husband, James Brown died who died in 1962, she is also predeceased by a second husband, Sam Campisi, died in 1989 and two brothers; Charles and James Tumberello. Surviving are her sons; James Brown and his wife Gerry of South Plainfield, Robert Brown of South Plainfield and Joseph Campisi of Brooklyn, NY, daughters; Lucille Troia of Brooklyn, NY and Rosalie Stamoutsos of Toms River. Grace is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Entombment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield. Family and friends may attend the visitation on Monday from 2- 4 & 7 - 9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations have been requested to St. Jude children's Research Foundation or to Susan B. Koman for the cure.
