Joseph E. Seleski Edison - Joseph E. Seleski, 93, died on Thursday, September 8, 2011 in the Genesis Health Care at The Woodlands in Plainfield. Born and raised in Dupont, PA., Mr. Seleski entered the Civilian Conservation Corps at an early age located in New Mexico. Prior to settling in the home which he and his late wife Viola built in Edison during the mid 1950's Joseph had lived in Plainfield. Referred to as one of the world's greatest generations to be apart of, Mr. Seleski was a decorated Veteran of WWII. He served with the U.S. Army and was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the European - African - Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sgt. on September 22, 1945. Mr. Seleski worked for worked for General Motors in Linden for 43 years as a Material Handler but most importantly he adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife Viola, Mr. Seleski is predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a great grandchild Ziarah. Joseph is survived by his 2 daughters: JoAnn Burke and her husband Jack of MO and Linda Sue Omoletski of NM, 2 bothers; Michael Selewski of North Plainfield and Edward Suleski of MA., 5 grandchildren; Michael Marchese, Stephen and Jason Omoletski, Melissa Valenti and Tara Vonch as well as 8 great grandchildren; Dillon, Madison, Marissa Jo, Taylor, Miyah, Violanda, and Tristan David. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 beginning at 8:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral Mass at St. Helena's RC Church, Edison. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105
