Obituary of Marie A. Simon

Marie A. Simon ( nee Capitola), passed away peacefully on November 10, 2016 at Job Haines Home in Bloomfield at the age of 99. Born and raised in Nutley, NJ to the late Anthony & Elizabaita Capitola, Marie resided in Belleville, NJ before settling to South Plainfield in 1950. Marie was a devoted wife and mother as a homemaker for most of her life. She was an active longtime volunteer for Deborah Heart & Lung Hospital. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John Simon , her son Bruce Simon, and by all of her siblings. Surviving are her loving sons, John W. Simon and wife Donna , Robert Simon and wife Mary, and Dennis Simon, her daughter in law; Carol Ziegman, her nine cherished grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 1:00 to 5:00PM at the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 14th at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
