Lorraine (Gasso) Donato, 82, died on Friday, April 1, 2016 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center. Born in Queens, NY, Lorraine had resided in South Plainfield since 1959. Mrs. Donato worked as a Duty Aide at South Plainfield High School for 20 years prior to her retirement. Lorraine enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends, but her true joy was found spending time with her family, preparing food during the holiday season and listening to the music that her talented husband recorded. Lorraine was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Anthony; her parents, Louis and Mary Gasso; and a daughter, Karen Ann Donato Kapsch. She is survived by her loving children, Cheryl Bellonio and husband Dan of Piscataway, Kathleen Hajduk and husband Michael, John Donato and wife Wendi and James Anthony Donato and wife Jeanmarie, all of South Plainfield; grandchildren, Daniel, Joseph, Michael, Lori, Vincent, Sherrie-Lynne, Taylor, Jamie and Anthony and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11am at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Entombment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield, NJ. Friends and family are invited to gather for the visitation on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 5-8pm in the funeral home.
