Bill - My husband, Ron, and I are so so sorry to hear of your wife's passing. We're truly sorry we were unable to meet Angela earlier.
I am currently recovering from surgery and doubt we'd be able to attend the services. We're sending our love and prayers to you and your family.
Know she is with the Lord and will never feel any pain again. With a BIG HUG, cousin Karen and Ron Bellamy from PA.

Angela and I have been friends for 48 years.
We both were nurses at Rahway Hospital. I came from Ireland and she from England a month after me in 1975. Josephine Cunningham and myself acclimated her and Anne Pottignano (nee) Tomkins to their new surroundings. Angela was the only English nurse among at least 20 Irish nurses. Ina Mckay who worked in Xray was the only other English lady, was the "landlady" of the apartments in Rahway which were just for nurses and unintentionally we gave her a lot of headaches. She was the "mother" of a big family.
Angela and I used to hitch hike to Mc Govern's Irish pub in Roselle Park and the Leprechaun pub in Elizabeth until one night we got a scare when we took a ride from two young men who happened to be high but turned out to be harmless. We realized how naive we were, so we bought a used Chrysler for $500 which was gorgeous. We felt like millionaires driving around. Angela did all the driving since I didn't have a license yet.
We both worked the evening shift, so it was off to McGovern's or the Leprechaun and then to breakfast. The music was fantastic, they were packed to the hilt with all of our other Irish nurse friends also. Angela loved to sing, she knew every word of every Irish song, put us to shame. We had
the best times of our lives for two and a half years until we met our partners and settled down.
We stayed in touch through good times and bad.
I moved to Florida in 2005. Angela visited me twice. We talked on the phone every Saturday evening for over an hour.
Angela had many bone related surgeries. She had rods in her spine and a plate in her neck just a few of many procedures. I called her the "bionic" woman, and she called me the "Hollow" woman as mine were organ related. Throughout it all I never heard her complain or feel self-pity. She was a warrior.
I will forever keep her memory in my heart.
My phone didn't ring at six o' clock on Saturday my heart is broken. Rest in peace Angela my dear friend.
Condolences to her daughter Michelle and Peter her son-in-law and her grandchildren Logan and Marcus.
Diane M Craig.

My baby sister had a tough childhood. She was a tomboy, always wanting to do the things the rest of us kids were up to. Climbing trees, jumping from five barred gates and jumping over holes in the ground. What she, and we, didn't know was her inability to feel pain, so she didn't know when she hit the ground. She was walking around with broken bones and burns she couldn't feel. One of the holes we jumped was the remains of an air raid shelter. When she attempted it, she fell and badly broke her arm, with bones sticking out of the skin; the doctors reset it without anaesthetics, just to test her lack of pain. As one of only 50 known cases of this disorder, her story made the national dailies and a article in the medical journal, The Lancet. Despite four years in hospital being observed and tested but not treated for her disorder, she maintained her ambition to become a nurse. With no scholastic qualifications, she had to start at the bottom, qualifying first as a State Enrolled nurse and then as a State Registered nurse. When she was headhunted with her Irish colleagues to work in Rahway Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she had to requalify under US regulations. A very determined lady; an overcomer.

Our condolences to the Kriney family. Although Angela was English born, she was a beloved member of the large contingent of Irish nurses recruited to Rahway Hospital by George Argast, remaining in close contact with the group celebrating numerous St. Patrick days, despite
her physical challenges. She will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace. Mary and Don Mahoney
